“Chalk the Plaza” Call for Artists

The City Art Board and City of Las Cruces seek artists to compete in the “Chalk the Plaza” sidewalk art competition.

The event will be from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2024, as part of the ¡MIRA! Las Cruces spring festival. The deadline to for artists to submit applications is Friday, April 5, 2024.

Interested artists or artist teams can find online information, instructions, and rules at www.lascruces.gov/PublicArt.

Artists must complete an application form and submit a concept sketch to be considered. Participants will be chosen from the submitted applications by the City Art Board selection committee.

“Chalk the Plaza” will be on east Organ Avenue between Roberto V. Estrada Pavilion and the BMO building. Prizes will be awarded to People’s Choice and Best of Show winners.
