Faivre has 24 years of municipal government experience in leadership, economic development, and strategic planning. Throughout his career, he has held key roles, including Director of Marketing for Visit Las Cruces, Business Development Administrator, and Deputy Director of Economic Development.

He has been instrumental in advancing major initiatives such as recent establishment of Metropolitan Redevelopment Areas; The City’s recent efforts to increase the Gross Receipts Tax for public safety and critical infrastructure; and the adoption of Realize Las Cruces, an update to the City’s land use code, intended to facilitate urban planning improvements, and streamlining departmental processes to enhance efficiency and service delivery. His expertise in economic development, supports a forward-thinking approach to growth and development in Las Cruces.

Faivre holds a master’s degree in Communications, and is known for his ability to translate complex policy and development strategies into clear, actionable plans that benefit residents and businesses alike.

As Director, Faivre will oversee Community Planning, Building Safety, permitting and inspections, and will work to guide the City’s development efforts to align with its long-term vision.

“I am honored to serve as Community Development Director and look forward to working alongside our talented team to support sustainable growth, improve planning processes, and foster strong partnerships with our community,” Faivre said. 

Faivre officially begins serving in the new role March 9, 2025.
