This event is a wonderful opportunity to bring our community together in the spirit of the season. The evening will feature live performances by Organ Mountain High School Jazz Band and NMSU’s official cover band, Proud Pete. 

At 7 PM, we will have the honor of Mayor Eric Enriquez lighting the tree to kick off the official start of the holiday season.

The City of Las Cruces will host its annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at Plaza de Las Cruces, 100 N. Main St.

The free event will include live music, giveaways, refreshments, food trucks and activities for the whole family.

Mayor Eric Enriquez will share some highlights and memorable moments from 2024 before the lighting of the Christmas tree at 7 p.m.

Following the ceremony on Plaza de Las Cruces, the Rio Grande Theatre will screen “The Muppet Christmas Carol” at 8 p.m. Admission is $5 per person, and doors to the theater open after the tree lighting. The Rio Grande Theatre is located at 211 N. Main St.
