More than 100 volunteers and their guests attended the third annual Volunteer Appreciation Brunch, Saturday, April 13, 2024, at the Las Cruces Convention Center.

Senior Programs, Las Cruces Public Libraries, Las Cruces Museum System, the City’s Communications Office, and the Parks & Recreation Department were well represented by their volunteers. The group swapped stories, shared smiles, and soaked up the gratitude of grateful staff. Tokens of appreciation were provided.

Last year, City of Las Cruces volunteers provided more than 15,000 hours of value-added services and program support. The City of Las Cruces volunteer program, the Volunteer Network, has close to 400 active volunteers.

Volunteer Week was established in 1974 by Presidential proclamation. Every president since has signed a Volunteer Week proclamation.

This year, Volunteer Week is from Sunday, April 21 to Saturday, April 27.

Please express your gratitude to a volunteer this week.
