Las Cruces City Council recently adopted the Shopping Cart Ordinance to make the removal of shopping carts from the premises of a business establishment a violation of municipal code. Stores that provide shopping carts for customer use will be affected. In order to remain in compliance, store owners must take action to reduce the removal of shopping carts from the premises and must facilitate the retrieval of carts removed. This meeting will take place to answer questions and review the process for creating the shopping cart plan.
