Las Cruces Public Libraires offers a variety of computer literacy classes throughout October to assist novice and beginners in becoming more comfortable using technology.

Classes range from basic skills to more advanced such as Excel spreadsheet functions. Each class is independent of other classes and registration is not required. Attendees are encouraged to come early to ensure there is a laptop available for hands-on learning.

Classes for October include:

  • Basic Computer Skills: Monday, Oct. 7, 2024, 10 a.m. to noon, Munson Senior Center, Room 3. This class will discuss what computers are and some ways to properly use them in your daily lives, including how to properly use a mouse.
  • Internet Basics and Safety: Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2024, 2-4 p.m. Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, Computer Training Classroom. In this class we will discuss better ways to navigate the Internet and some tips on how to stay safe online.
  • Manage Your Files and Digital Pictures: Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2024, 2-4 p.m. at Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, Computer Training Classroom. Students will learn how to manage their digital files and how to upload photos from a smart phone to a computer.
  • Smart Phone Basics: Monday, Oct. 21, 2024, from 10 a.m. to noon at Munson Senior Center, Meeting Room 3.
  • Your Email Questions Answered: Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2024, from 2-4 p.m. at Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, Computer Training Classroom.
  • Internet Basics and Safety: Monday, Oct. 28, 2024, from 10 a.m. to noon at Munson Senior Center, Meeting Room 3.
  • MacBook Basics: Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2024, from 2-4 p.m. at Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, Computer Training Classroom.
