DALLAS – Conference USA will be sending four schools to play in bowl games this holiday season. CUSA Champion Jax State leads the group of four, joined in the postseason by Liberty, Sam Houston and WKU.
The Gamecocks (9-4, 7-1 CUSA) posted the second highest rushing total (386) in CUSA Championship Game history in a commanding 52-12 victory over the Hilltoppers on Friday. Jax State is set for a showdown with MAC Champion Ohio (10-3, 7-1 MAC) in the StaffDNA Cure Bowl at 11 a.m. CT on Friday, Dec. 20, on ESPN.
WKU (8-5, 6-2 CUSA) is headed to a bowl game for the sixth time in as many seasons under the direction of head coach Tyson Helton and is seeking a fourth-straight bowl victory. The Hilltoppers will face James Madison (8-4, 4-4 Sun Belt) in the Boca Raton Bowl at 4:30 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Dec. 18, on ESPN.
Sam Houston (9-3, 6-2 CUSA) is making its bowl debut in its first year of eligibility after a six-win improvement from 2023. The Bearkats will take on Georgia Southern (8-4, 6-2 Sun Belt) in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl at 6 p.m. CT on Thursday, Dec. 19, on ESPN2.
Liberty (8-3, 5-3 CUSA) reached eight wins and secured bowl eligibility for the sixth consecutive season. The Flames are slated to play Buffalo (8-4, 6-2 MAC) in the Bahamas Bowl at 10 a.m. CT on Saturday, Jan. 4, on ESPN2.
