County Commission announces Scott Andrews as choice for next county manager–offer pending acceptance

During its meeting on Tuesday, August 13, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) announced the selection of Scott Andrews, Ed.D. for the position of County Manager.

The BOCC voted to move forward with making an offer to Scott Andrews, Ed.D. who emerged as the top choice following a rigorous interview process. The decision was made after careful consideration of the candidates’ qualifications, experience, and feedback from community members and stakeholders.

After a thorough and transparent process, and we are excited to share that Scott Andrews, Ed.D. is our choice to lead Doña Ana County into a bright and promising future.”

Upon accepting the offer, Scott Andrews, Ed.D. would join Doña Ana County after serving as Assistant City Manager of Bakersfield, California. He has more than 21 years of experience in various roles in the public sector including Human Resources, Finance, Parks & Recreation, Information Technology Services, Economic Development, Community Relations, and Risk Management. Mr. Andrews has a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of South Florida/Univ. of Phoenix, a Master of Public Administration from Strayer University and a Doctor of Education from Argosy University.

The selection of the new county manager is contingent upon successful contract negotiations. Once the Board of Commissioners has received the final contract, a formal vote will be held on Monday, August 19 at 12:15 p.m. to confirm the appointment of the new County Manager.
