Davis Avenue Water Outage in Las Cruces

A water outage is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2024, and Wednesday, March 27, 2024, that will affect residents on and near Davis Avenue.

Source: City of Las Cruces

Affected city streets will include:

  • Davis Avenue: Between Fourth Street and Douglas Street.
  • Wilson Avenue: Between Fourth Street and Douglas Street.
  • Fifth Street: Between Howell Road and Parker Road.
  • Douglas Street: Between Wilson Avenue and Parker Road

The water outage will enable DuCross Construction to complete water line tie-ins on Davis Avenue as part of the 2023-2024 Pavement Replacement Phase 1 construction project.

Adjacent areas also may be affected by the outage. If water on your street is scheduled to be turned off, city crews will post a door hanger notice a minimum of 24 hours in advance.

Once service is restored, residents may notice discolored water due to iron, manganese and calcium deposits. Although the water is safe to drink, City officials recommend waiting for the water to become clear before washing laundry.

The discoloration should disappear within 24 hours. If it does not, residents should flush all faucets in their house for five minutes.

If the discoloration remains, call the City at (575) 526-0500 for assistance. The TTY phone number is (575) 541-2182.
