State joins five other locations in running for Leading Regional Destination
SANTA FE, NM– New Mexico was selected as one of six finalists for “North America’s Leading Regional Destination” for the prestigious 2025 World Travel Awards.
The World Travel Awards, recognized globally as the ultimate hallmark of excellence in the travel, tourism, and hospitality industries, celebrate the destinations and experiences that leave a lasting impact on travelers worldwide.

This recognition reflects New Mexico’s commitment to offering authentic experiences, timeless splendor and hospitality that lingers with visitors long after their journey ends. The selection of New Mexico as a finalist reinforces the state’s growing appeal as a top-tier travel destination and highlights the momentum building across the state’s vibrant tourism landscape.
Voting is now open and runs through August 10, 2025. The five other finalists for this highly competitive award include British Columbia, California, Colorado, Florida, and Québec.
The public can support New Mexico by participating in the voting process.

- Start voting. The first award will appear automatically, with nominees listed alphabetically.
