Facing “Big City” Competition, the Las Cruces Police Hostage Negotiation Team Places 4th at National Conference

The team competed against HNT teams from Dallas, Phoenix, Portland and Palm Beach amongst other cities.

LCPD’s Hostage Negotiation Team recently placed 4th in the National Negotiator’s Challenge during the annual conference of the National Tactical Officers Association.

The team competed against HNT teams from Dallas, Phoenix, Portland and Palm Beach amongst other cities.

LCPD’s HNT team includes Oscar Magallanes, Charli Velasco, Josh Milks, Carmen Lazarin, Ricky Bardwell and Austin Kane. Not pictured are Tristan Smith, David Tovar and Robert McCord.
