Program Information:

The Oncology Center of Excellence (OCE) was authorized by the 21st Century Cures Act of 2016 and established on January 19, 2017, as a part of the Cancer Moonshot Initiative. The Center unites experts across the FDA to conduct expedited review of medical products for oncologic and hematologic malignancies. The OCE also leads a variety of research and educational outreach projects and programs to advance the development and regulation of medical products for patients with cancer.  Since the inception of the Center in 2017, the OCE has established over 40 programs targeted to improve cancer drug development and engage in stakeholder outreach including with patient groups, academia, global regulators and industry.  There has been a heavy concentration of oncology product development and with that an active cancer community.  This Conversations on Cancer will discuss major therapeutic advances that have been approved since 2017 and notable OCE Programs that have supported cancer drug development and interactions with the cancer community.
