Free Computer Literacy Classes in February

Las Cruces Public Libraries will offer a variety of free computer literacy classes in February designed to help adults develop confidence in their computer skills and grow more comfortable in today’s digital world.

Classes will be in the Computer Training Classroom, on the second floor of Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, 200 E. Picacho Ave. Laptops will be provided, but attendees are welcome to bring their laptops if space permits.

Each session listed is an independent class. There is no registration.

Manage Your Files and Digital Pictures – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2024.

This is a class where students will learn how to manage their digital files. Students will learn how to upload photos from a smart phone to a computer either directly or through the cloud. Once on the computer, students will learn how to organize files on the computer.

Email Basics – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024.

Students will learn the basics of sending, receiving, and replying to a message, as well as how to send and open attachments and safely manage their email account. Students should know their username and email password.

Word Basics – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2024.

A class for those who are beginning to use Microsoft Word. Students will learn how to create and format basic documents. Basic computer skills are required.

Excel Basics – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2024.

A class for those who are beginning to use Microsoft Excel. Students will learn how to create and format basic spreadsheets. Basic computer skills are required.
