NM State submits best team finish of the year.

SUGAR LAND, Texas – NM State’s women’s golf team wrapped up play at the Riverbend Intercollegiate at Riverbend Country Club. After a final round on Tuesday, the Aggies finished tied for third (+39) among the 15-team field to post their best finish as a team this season. At 6-under, Houston earned the team title.

Individually, the Aggies were led by a pair of Aggies that submitted top 10 performances. Angela Garvin continued her strong week as she turned in a 74 (+2) to finished in a tie for sixth (+2). This represented Garvin’s best finish of the season and second-best of her two-year Aggie career. Additionally, Emma Bunch logged yet another solid finish as she finished tied for ninth (+4) to post her fifth top 10 finish of the season in just six tournaments. Houston’s Moa Svedenskiold ran away with the individual title as she posted a 54-hole score of 206 (-10) to finish five shots clear of the field.
Alexandria Armendariz was the next Aggie to appear on the leaderboard as she moved three spots up with a final-round 76 (+4) to finish in a tie for 34th (+15). Kaylee Chen recorded the biggest jump among Aggies as she secured a tie for 39th (+18) – moving up nine spots after Monday. Camille Pazouki was the third Aggie to move up the leaderboard as she ended the week in a tie for 53rd (+23).

NUMBERS OF NOTE
- The T3 finish as a team is the Aggies’ best placement since NM State finished 2nd at the Conference USA Championship last season.
- Angela Garvin’s T6 finish is the second-best finish of her Aggie career – only behind a T3 finish at the Golf Iconic Classic in October of 2023. Her final 54-hole score of 218 is also the fifth-best score of her Aggie career and best of the season.
- Emma Bunch turned in her 17th consecutive top 25 finish and 11th top 10 finish in her last 13 starts. In total, Bunch now has 16 top 10 finishes in her collegiate career.
- As a team, NM State finished with the second-best par 3 average of the week – posting an average score of 3.13 on par 3s. This was fueled by Camille Pazouki who had an average score of 2.75 on par 3s to pace the entire field.
- Meanwhile, Emma Bunch’s average of 3.70 on par 4s also led all competitors this week.
- The Aggies carded 24 total birdies which was good for third-most among the field this week.
