“Kids Expo: A Groovy Day for Kids” is a free public event that welcomes local families to learn about extracurricular programs and services that are available for our youth in the Las Cruces area. Local businesses, agencies, and groups will be available to provide information on their services.

Parks and Recreation hosts activities such as arts & crafts, play course, duck-fishing, face paint, and giveaways. Along with receiving goody bags, kids can enter a raffle for a backpack filled with school supplies. This year also includes a partnership with Big Brothers and Big Sisters – Mountain Region who will host a Bike Rodeo, where kids are encouraged to bring their bikes, and gear to try out the course. Additionally, to raise awareness on bike safety, this organization will provide bike helmets, for free, to the first 200 participants,18 years or younger.

There will also be performances by Zumbini, Folklorico Corazon de Las Cruces, H2D2, and Ballet Folklorico la Catrina. For more information, visit the www.lascruces.gov/Events webpage or contact Special Events at 575/541-2739.
