The City of Las Cruces Roadrunner Transit introduced its first five fully battery-electric buses into regular service today. This marks the beginning of an exciting new era for Roadrunner as it embarks on a gradual transition to a fully electric bus fleet.

Las Cruces City Council members, Mayor Eric Enriquez, and Transit Director, Mike Bartholomew, participated in the ceremony.

When: Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at 9:30 a.m.

Where: Mesilla Valley Intermodal Transit Terminal (MVITT), 300 W. Lohman Avenue, Las Cruces, NM 88005.

Parking was limited at the MVITT. Attendees were welcome to park at the parking lot on the west side of Water Street between Las Cruces Avenue and Griggs Avenue (in the old El Paso Electric parking lot). Roadrunner picked up attendees at the bus shelter in this parking lot at 9:15 a.m. to be shuttled to the MVITT. A return shuttle will also be provided.
