Las Cruces police graduated eight police service aides and two park rangers during a ceremony held Friday afternoon.

The PSAs graduates are Ryan Escudero, Steven Kraft, Mary Leclere, Rafael Portillo, Sophia Rosales, Tatiana Trujillo, Alyna Vazquez and Jonathan Carrillo.
The new park rangers are Jacob Baldwin and Rebecca Saenz. Baldwin and Saenz are the first of three park rangers who will be employed by LCPD.
Of the eight PSA graduates, seven will work for the Las Cruces Police Department while one, Carrillo, will be employed by the Sunland Park Police Department. LCPD’s seven new PSAs will join six other PSAs who are already employed by the department.

Three current PSAs will soon become cadets in LCPD’s officer training academy when it begins in April. Three former PSAs went on and attended LCPD academies.
Park ranger is a new position for the City. The new park rangers will be tasked with securing Las Cruces parks and help enforce laws that prohibit disorderly behavior, and camping and loitering after hours.
