Las Cruces Public Libraries will offer free computer literacy classes in April designed to help adults develop confidence in their computer skills and grow more comfortable in today’s digital world.

Classes will be in the Computer Training Classroom, on the second floor of Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, 200 E. Picacho Ave. Laptops will be provided, but attendees are welcome to bring their own laptops for use as space permits.

Each session is an independent class. No registration for classes is required.
 
Windows 11 Basics – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2024.This class will teach students how to navigate the most recent Microsoft operating system. Topics that will be covered are the new Start Menu layout, what the taskbar is and how to customize Windows 11.
 
MacBook Basics – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2024. Are you new to using an Apple laptop or just want to learn what is different from a Windows laptop? Join us as we explore how to navigate a MacBook, use Safari to search the internet, and how to create and save files.
 
Word Basics – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2024. A class for those who are beginning to use Microsoft Word. Students will learn how to create and format basic documents. Basic computer skills are required.
 
Excel Basics – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2024. A class for those who are beginning to use Microsoft Excel. Students will learn how to create and format basic spreadsheets. Basic computer skills are required.
 
PowerPoint Basics – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2024. Do you need to create a PowerPoint presentation and don’t know where to start. This class will show you how to create slides, insert photos and transition slides for dynamic presentations. Basic computer skills are required.
