Las Cruces Public Libraries will offer a variety of free computer literacy classes in June designed to help adults develop confidence in their computer skills and grow more comfortable in today’s digital world.

Laptops will be provided, but attendees are welcome to bring their own laptops if space permits. Each session listed is an independent class. There is no registration required.  

Manage Your Files and Digital Pictures

A class where students will learn how to manage their digital files. Students will learn how to upload photos from a smart phone to a computer either directly or through the cloud. Once on the computer, students will learn how to organize files on the computer. 

When: Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at 2 – 4 p.m.  

Where: Thomas Branigan Memorial Library- Computer Training Classroom located on the Second Floor. 

Basic Computer Skills

Are you uncomfortable using a computer? Do you want to understand how to use it without the fear of doing something to break it? This class will discuss what computers are and some ways to properly use them in your daily lives. 

When: Monday, June 17, 2024, at 10 a.m. to noon.  

Where: Munson Senior Center- Meeting Room 3 

Email Basics

Students will then learn the basics of sending, receiving, and replying to a message, as well as how to send and open attachments and safely manage their email account. Students should know their username and email password. 

When: Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at 2 – 4 p.m.  

Where: Thomas Branigan Memorial Library- Computer Training Classroom located on the Second Floor. 

Internet Basics and Safety

Do you know what the Internet is? In this class we will discuss better ways to navigate the Internet and some tips on how to stay safe online. 

When: Monday, June 24, 2024, at 10 a.m. to noon  

Where: Munson Senior Center- Meeting Room 3 

There is More to Your Google Account than just Gmail

Did you know that with your free Gmail account you can do so much more than just email? Come learn how to create and save documents, and presentations. You will also learn about the Google Drive that allows you to store documents and photos online.  

When: Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at 2 – 4 p.m.  

Where: Thomas Branigan Memorial Library- Computer Training Classroom located on the Second Floor.
