Inspired by the playful catchphrase, “May the fourth be with you,” New Mexico State University Global Campus invites learners to expand their horizons with its featured virtual reality microlearning courses just in time for Star Wars Day Saturday, May 4.

These courses offer interactive and engaging experiences, guiding participants in mastering the latest VR technologies.

The VR courses available for enrollment at NMSU Global Campus include “Designing the Future: Instructional Design in the Metaverse,” priced at $150 with the promotional code VRPIONEER; “Building Mental Health Simulations in Virtual Reality” for $300; and “Spatial Computing Masterclass,” priced at $500. Additionally, upcoming courses “Virtual Reality for Business” and “Virtual Reality for Education” will be open for enrollment soon.

These courses provide flexible, self-paced learning opportunities designed for a diverse range of learners, from beginners to advanced users seeking to explore the forefront of VR applications. For several of these courses, no special VR equipment is needed, ensuring accessibility for all interested participants.

“By tapping into Star Wars Day, we can align our VR microlearning courses with the spirit of innovation and futuristic exploration that both our programs and this day celebrate,” said Andrew Sedillo, director of Microcredentials Instructional Design at NMSU Global Campus.

“These courses are not new, but their potential to transform educational landscapes continues to grow with each cohort. We invite learners to channel their inner Jedi and master the tools that will define the future of technology and instruction,” Sedillo added.

These courses are part of an ongoing initiative by NMSU Global Campus to integrate cutting-edge technology into accessible educational formats. They aim to prepare students and professionals to leverage VR in various sectors, from instructional design and mental health to business training and educational innovation.
