A 33-year-old man was fatally shot Wednesday evening at a home in the 800 block of Holly Street.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:48 p.m. on Oct. 2, 2024.
Officers with the Las Cruces Police Department responded to a report of a shooting and found a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators with the Criminal Investigation Section believe the deceased and the resident of the home had previously been in a relationship. The nature of their relationship, as well as the motive for the shooting, remains under investigation.
