Matching Funds: Apply for Fiscal Year 2026 Small Business Innovation Research Grants–June 10 Deadline

Funds must be used for business development purposes and not duplicate items or activities funded by the federal SBIR/STTR award.

The New Mexico Economic Development Department is offering Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Matching Grants of up to $100,000 to accelerate the commercialization of technologies developed with the aid of the Federal SBIR/STTR awards.

  • Phase I grants – up to $50,000
  • Phase II grants – up to $100,000

This is a competitive grant for New Mexico for-profit technology companies with high-growth potential. To be eligible, companies must have an active Phase I or Phase II SBIR/STTR or be within 3 months of a Phase I having ended with intentions of applying for a Phase II. Funds must be used for business development purposes and not duplicate items or activities funded by the federal SBIR/STTR award.
