Nevada Avenue Water Outage in Las Cruces

Las Cruces residents at the following locations will experience water outages from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2024, and Wednesday, April 3, 2024.

Source: City of Las Cruces

Residents on these streets will be affected:

  • Lees Drive: Between Colorado Avenue and Lester Avenue.
  • Laurel Street: Between Brook Circle and Lester Avenue.
  • Brook Circle: Between New Mexico Avenue and Nevada Avenue.
  • Nevada Avenue: Between Laurel Street and Lees Drive

The water outages will enable DuCross Construction to complete water line tie-ins on Nevada Avenue as part of the 2023-2024 Pavement Replacement Phase1 construction project.

Adjacent areas also may be affected by the outage. If water on your street is scheduled to be turned off, City crews will post a door-hanger notice a minimum of 24 hours in advance.

Once service is restored, residents may notice discolored water due to iron, manganese and calcium deposits. Although the water is safe to drink, City officials recommend waiting for the water to become clear before washing laundry.

The discoloration should disappear within 24 hours. If it does not, residents should flush all faucets in their house for five minutes.

If the discoloration remains, call the City at (575) 526-0500 for assistance. The TTY phone number is (575) 541-2182.
