Statewide, NM – On December 20th, 2024, New Mexico State Police conducted traffic operations throughout the state. The goal of the operation was to curb dangerous driving, enforce moving violations, and create a heavy presence of law enforcement officers. Keeping the roadways safe as we near the holidays is a top priority of the New Mexico State Police.

During the four-hour operation, New Mexico State Police officers contacted over 400 drivers, issued 585 citations, and made 15 arrests, 3 of which were DWIs. Citations issued ranged from violations such as speeding, no insurance, and no seatbelt.

New Mexico State Police remains committed to enforcing the state’s traffic laws to ensure motorists’ safety and reduce crashes throughout the state. We will continue to conduct operations throughout the rest of the year and into 2025.
