Emma Bunch cracks top 10 after second-round 68.

PALM DESERT, Calif. – NM State continued play at the Alice and John Wallace Classic at Monterey Country Club on Sunday morning as the Aggie squad took part in the second round of competition. The Aggies improved on their performance from Saturday as they combined to shoot three-over on the day – moving the team up one spot and into seventh place on the team leaderboard.

Individually, the Aggies were paced by No. 69 Emma Bunch who posted a 68 (-3) during her second round to advance 13 spots and into a tie for seventh place on the 120-player individual leaderboard. This marked Bunch’s third round of the year in the 60s and lowest round since shooting a 68 in the final round of the Golfweek Fall Challenge on Sept. 10, 2024.
Angela Garvin also improved her spot in the field as she finished with a 73 (+2) for the second straight day and now sits in a tie for 28th. Camille Pazouki finds herself just one stroke behind Garvin and in a tie for 34th after a stellar round of 70 (-1) which included four birdies. Kaylee Chen stands in a tie for 48th while Alex Armendariz is tied for 74th to round out the group of Aggies in California.
NUMBERS OF NOTE
- The Aggies posted 16 birdies on Sunday, including 10 which came on the back nine holes.
- Pazouki’s round moved her 38 spots up the leaderboard which was tied for the second-largest individual jump during Sunday’s second round.
- NM State currently ranks fourth in average on par 5s as they are a combined two-under and are averaging 4.93 strokes on the par 5s this weekend. This is led by Emma Bunch who is three-under across the first two rounds on the par 5s – a mark that ranks tied for second among the field.
- Bunch is also currently pacing the entire field in total birdies with 10 during the first 36 holes of action.
