Bunch moves into first all-time in individual titles in program history with seven.

DADE CITY, Fla. – The NM State women’s golf team delivered a strong performance at the Spring Break Shootout hosted by Western Kentucky, finishing tied for third place as a team while standout golfer Emma Bunch claimed the individual title with a stellar showing at Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club.

The Aggies posted a team score of 889 (+37), tying with Stetson for third place overall. Florida Gulf Coast took the team title with a score of 866 (+14), followed by Illinois in second place at 873 (+21).
Leading the way for the Aggies was Emma Bunch, who dominated the field with a three-round total of 209 (-4) after closing the tournament with a stellar 66 (-5) in the final round. Her five-under final round was the lowest score recorded in the tournament and secured her the individual championship by two strokes over St. John’s Xuan Khue Minh Doan (211, -2).
Other notable performances for NM State included Kaylee Chen and Camille Pazouki, who both tied for 27th place at 227 (+14). Angela Garvin carded a three-round total of 231 (+18) to finish tied for 44th, while Alexandria Armendariz shot 237 (+24) to round out the Aggies’ lineup.
NUMBERS OF NOTE
- Emma Bunch’s victory marks her second individual title of the season and seventh of her collegiate career. With seven crowns, she is now the all-time winningest individual in program history – surpassing Pun Chanachai who previously held the record with six wins.
- With her placement this week, Bunch turned in her 18th consecutive top 25 finish and 12th top 10 finish in her last 14 starts. In total, Bunch now has 17 top 10 finishes and nine top three finishes in her career.
- The team’s finish represented the Aggies’ second straight T3 finish after also finishing tied for third at the Riverbend Intercollegiate just last week.
- During the final round of action, the average 18-hole score was 75.63, the lowest average of the week. In total, the average score for the tournament was 76.27.
- With a total of 26 birdies, the Aggies ranked fifth in the field in birdies. The Aggies also ranked third in total pars with 161 on the week.
- Bunch finished the week a combined four-under on the par 5s which was tied for first among the entire field this week. Bunch also paced the field in total birdies with 14.
- Kaylee Chen logged 37 pars to rank second among the field.
