Aggie men and women to compete alongside Texas, Stanford and New Mexico in inaugural NB3 Matchplay at Twin Warriors.

The NM State men’s and women’s golf programs will be on the national stage this fall as they were invited to participate in the first-ever NB3 Matchplay at Twin Warriors presented by Pueblo of Santa Ana. On Tuesday, Oct. 8, and Wednesday, Oct. 9, the Aggie programs will travel to Santa Ana Pueblo, N.M., to participate in this unique event alongside the men’s and women’s programs of New Mexico, Stanford and Texas.
The event will air live on Golf Channel and Peacock as the Pueblo Santa Ana’s tradition, culture and golf resort will be on full display when the teams compete at the prestigious Twin Warriors Golf Club. The four institutions are set to compete in a round robin match play format in which each team plays the other three times. During round robin play, a total of five points will be available in each match and the winners on both the men’s and women’s sides will be determined by total points won. In addition, an overall University champion will also be determined by the cumulative total of both the men’s and women’s points.
This high-level event will be hosted by Pueblo of Santa Ana and Albuquerque native Notah Begay. Begay began his amateur career at Albuquerque Academy before attending Stanford University where he was a three-time All-American and a teammate of Tiger Woods. Begay was also a member of the 1994 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championship Team. Following his time with the Cardinal, Begay turned pro in 1995. During his time on the PGA Tour, Begay compiled four wins, including back-to-back wins in 2000.

The Tamaya Indian Reservation is located in north-central New Mexico along the banks of the Rio Grande river valley.
