NMSU Continues to Build a Better Hoops Squad, Adding Star Forward Peter Filipovity

Filipovity averaged 14.4 points and 7.7 rebounds at Maine last season.

On Wednesday evening, Peter Filipovity made it official that he will be wearing crimson and white come this fall.

Filipovity spent a year at Utah State Eastern before transferring to the University of Maine and played three seasons with the Black Bears.

Filipovity led Maine in scoring and rebounding last season with 14.4 points per game and 7.7 rebounds per game.
On March 5, Filipovity put up his highest-scoring game when he recorded a 27-point performance against UMass Lowell while shooting 68% from the field.
Filipovity concluded his breakout 2023-24 season earning a spot on the America East All-Conference Second Team and a spot on the All-Academic Team.
Last season, Filipovity recorded nine double-doubles for Maine which led the team and was ranked fourth-most in the American East conference.
He spent his 2020-21 season at Utah State Eastern where he appeared in 21 games with seven starts while averaging 12.7 points and a team-high 6.7 rebounds while shooting 58.1 percent from the floor. He also was named to the NJCAA Region XVIII All-Region Second Team that season.
Filipovity was also a member of the U16 and U20 Hungarian National Teams.
