NMSU to host Mesilla Valley Water Management Seminar June 7

The New Mexico State University Department of Civil Engineering will host the Mesilla Valley Water Management Seminar, “Wells, Water and Pecans,” from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, June 7 at Hernandez Hall, Room 103.

The seminar will gather experts, researchers and local stakeholders to discuss critical water management issues and their impact on the agriculture industry, with a particular focus on wells and pecan farming. Sufficient time will be allocated for interaction between the participants, speakers and stake holders.
 
Topics to be covered include effective water management strategies for pecan farming; innovations in well technology and maintenance; sustainable practices to ensure long-term water availability; and case studies and research findings from the Mesilla Valley region. 
 
The event is designed for farmers, agricultural professionals, water management experts, civil and environmental engineers, students and anyone interested in sustainable water resource management.
 
Participants will have the opportunity to gain insights from industry leaders and researchers, network with peers, and learn about the latest advancements and best practices in water management.
