“New Mexico State University is grateful to team up with ECMC to facilitate the Realizing the College Dream for our partners in the public schools and for organizations that assist precollege youth with college admissions and success strategies,” said Tony Marin, assistant vice president for Student Affairs. “Realizing the College Dream will also provide for an opportunity to showcase to our partners NMSU’s academic programs and student support services that foster student success at NMSU.”

Realizing the College Dream will provide information for professionals such as teachers, administrators and guidance counselors, who help students with the college exploration and admissions processes. Workshop topics will include planning and paying for college, exploring programs and careers, succeeding as a first-generation college student and managing money. Participants also will have a chance to learn more about NMSU’s academic programs, admissions, financial aid and academic advising.

“ECMC is so excited to partner with NMSU to bring this valuable training to Las Cruces,” said Thomas Bailey, ECMC outreach director. “Realizing the College Dream is a comprehensive guide to help educators teach their students that college is one opportunity they can’t afford to miss. We believe that every student who wants to go to college should have the opportunity.”
