Of course the names and circumstances of the students cannot be released due to privacy concerns, and through further statements, it has been revealed that the number students who have had their visa’s revoked has swelled to six.

Andrews’ story concludes with a quote from Lakshmi N. Reddi, Interim Provost and Chief Academic Officer at New Mexico State University, “During this time, it is important for each of us to uphold our core Aggie values of courage, empathy, gratitude, inclusivity, kindness, and respect to support one another, and cherish the accomplishments of our talented faculty, staff, and students.”

This story has been picked up by more mainstream media sources, but Las Cruces Digest encourages its readers to link to The Round Up for the most relevant coverage.

For those who may not know, The Round Up, now in its 114th year of existence, “is proud to be the longest standing student organization on the NMSU campus, truly independent, and having never skipped a year or semester of coverage during its time.”
