The Hawks of Volcano Vista took off in the 3rd Quarter, outscoring the Knights 16-9. The Knights were unable to make up the difference, ultimately falling 47-34 in “the Pit” in Albuquerque.

The score was exacerbated by a late-game foul strategy so common in modern basketball, putting the Hawks to the foul line where they sank free throw after free throw.
