This program has funded exciting projects that go beyond trail infrastructure and still align with our mission to increase equitable access to the outdoors for all New Mexicans.

The New Mexico Outdoor Recreation Division is accepting proposals for the Trails+ Grant program, a funding initiative dedicated to planning and building recreational infrastructure. Trails+ Grants stimulate regional economic development, improve the quality of life for residents and visitors, promote community health through supporting an active lifestyle, and increase access to the beautiful places that make New Mexico unique.


Funding is available now. Full details in our Trails+ Grant Program Guide.

Eligible applicants: Tribes, Pueblos, and Nations; municipalities; counties; nonprofits; public preschools/schools/districts; colleges/universities; soil and water conservation districts; acequia and land grant associations.
