Pair of School Records Highlight Regular Season Finale

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Things aren’t beautiful because they last. Gearing up for one final day of action in the regular season, NM State returned to the Albuquerque Convention Center for day two of the Don Kirby Elite Invitational. On the afternoon, two school records fell – first Rebecca Green outdid her own program best in the shot put, followed by the 4×400 relay team breaking a mark that had held for more than a decade.
 
Track Headlines
 
Opening the final day of regular season action on the track was the 60m hurdle prelims. School record holder in the event Aliyah Logan was the lone Aggie to advance to the finals, posting a time of 8.36 to take fifth in her heat and fifth overall. Also in preliminary action, Breanna Moss posted a time of 9.00 – her first time competing in the event in 2025.
 
In the finals of the 60m hurdles, Aliyah Logan ran a time of 8.26, taking fourth overall to close her final regular season with the Crimson & White.
 
In the 60m dash (unseeded), Sierra Brewer took part in a competitive heat, taking second in the heat and fourth overall with a time of 7.52, the top finish among NM State student-athletes, and a new personal best that keeps her fourth in the all-time record book, just behind teammate Jhana Downie (7.48). Grace Pendarvis (7.91) nearly matched her season-best in the event, while Angelina Killings (8.02) also tallied a new personal best at the Albuquerque Convention Center. Cameron Hodges competed in the event for the first time in her collegiate career, posting a time of 8.04.
 
In the mile run, Rachel O’Brien competed unattached while taking the top spot in her heat, posting a time of 4:48.05, while Amanda Radava finished with officially the fastest time for the Crimson & White, tallying a mark of 4.57.13 – a new personal best. Jordan Torres accomplished a similar feat with a new personal best (5:09.04), as did Khloi Bird (5:13.83), Murrie Dodge(5:37.16) and Alexandra Ordaz (5:43.24).
 
Returning to action after a strong performance in the 600m on Friday, Marlene Mosqueda led the Aggies in the 800m on Saturday afternoon with a time of 2:12.32. This mark represents a personal best, and the fastest time in the event this season for NM State. Nya Valenzuela competed in the event for the first time with the Aggies, tallying a mark of 2:33.16.
 
Closing the weekend of action with the 4x400m relay, the quartet of Sahara TaskerJahnya HillJhana Downie and Mickaliliah Vassell showed up and showed out – taking second overall while posting a school record time of 3:37.48. This supplants a mark set in 2013 at the WAC Track & Field Championships – held that year at the Albuquerque Convention Center.
 
Field Headlines
 
Rebecca Green has paved the way for the Aggies in the shot put all season long, and Saturday was no different. On her first throw of the morning, the Los Alamos native launched a mark of 16.59m (54-5.25″) – tying her overall best (indoor or outdoor competiton), and surpassing her school record mark of 16.10m set in 2024. Advancing to the finals on that throw, Green would return to the circle later and post an even better mark – 16.75m (54-11.50″) – rewriting the book again before the ink dried.
 
Elsewhere in the shot put, Kamryn Cadle (13.89m) and Alesha Lane (13.01m) posted their second best results of the 2025 campaign.
 
In the triple jump, Cameron Hodges secured herself a new personal best with a mark of 11.95m (39-2.50″). With this result, Hodges maintains her seventh-place standing in the program’s record book, just behind Mareka Clark’s mark of 11.98m set in 2012.

After a week away from action, the Aggies will prepare for the 2025 CUSA Indoor Track & Field Championships, held Feb. 28-Mar. 1 in Lynchburg, Va. Hosted by Liberty University, the Flames swept the men’s and women’s titles in the 2024 edition of the meet.
