DALLAS, Texas – Following an outstanding weekend on the court, NM State junior Anna Pinaieva has been named the Conference USA Athlete of the Week. This recognition marks the first time this season that an Aggie has earned the honor.

Pinaieva earned Athlete of the Week honors after leading her team to three consecutive 7-0 victories with dominant performances in both singles and doubles play. Competing from the No. 1 spot, the junior from Ukraine posted a flawless 3-0 record in singles, winning each match in straight sets, including a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Weber State’s Sydney Schnell.

She mirrored that success in doubles, teaming up with Nadia Nemeth to secure another perfect 3-0 record from the top spot.
