In a twist of fate, Round Two of the 2025 State Softball Championships will be a touchstone to District 3/5A play as the top-seeded Centennial Hawks play a Mayfield Trojans team they swept in early district play. The LCHS Bulldawgs will face Alamogordo in the Consolation bracket. A little more than two weeks ago, the Tigers of Alamogordo took two out of three against the Bulldawgs.
The games will be played at 9am on Thursday at Cleveland High School in Rio Rancho.
The Organ Mountain Knights failed to “play in”, falling to La Cueva 10-0.
In Class 3A, the Hatch Valley Bears lost a nail-biter to Navajo Prep in the Play-in Round. The SonBlazers of Mesilla Valley Christian also fell in the qualifying round to Raton.
