Palo Alto, Calif. / Austin, Texas – Returning to action for their second weekend of competition following the season-opening Willie Williams Classic, the Aggies spread themselves across the country, sending teams to a trio of meets: the Mike Fanelli Track Classic in Hayward, California, the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, California, and the Texas Relays in Austin, Texas.

Highlighting the Stanford Invitational, Los Alamos native Rebecca Green posted a school record in the shot put while taking first place. Meanwhile in Austin, the 4×400 team qualified for Saturday’s finals at the Texas Relays, finishing ahead of multiple nationally ranked programs.

Texas Relays
Opening the day at the Texas Relays, the quartet of Sierra BrewerJhana DownieGrace Pendarvis and Mickaliliah Vassell posted a time of 45.81, finishing third in their heat behind future Big Ten member UCLA and future SEC member Oklahoma.

Aliyah Logan was the sole member of NM State to compete in the 100m hurdles at the meet, advancing to Saturday’s finals after posting a wind-assisted time of 13.37 (+2.6 m/s) to take second in her heat behind Clemson’s Oneka Wilson.

Later in the day, the 4×400 team of Terice SteenJhana DownieGrace Pendarvis and Mickaliliah Vassell advanced to Saturday’s finals with a time of 3:41.62, taking first in their heat and fifth overall in prelims ahead of nationally ranked programs Texas Tech (16th) and Oklahoma (19th).

Stanford Invitational
Similarly to the indoor season, Rebecca Green took part in the shot put invitational and set a school record in the process. Taking first place, Green recorded a distance of 16.59m (54-4.25″) besting the previous record by more than two feet (15.93m [52-3.25″]).

Ladina Kobler represented the top performance among Aggies in the shot put collegiate, posting a mark of 14.12m (46-4″).

Jahnya Hill posted a time of 53.69 at the Stanford Invitational, recording a new personal best in the event while finishing second in her heat behind Nevada’s Kylee Parsons.

Mike Fanelli Track Classic
First-year Aggie Nia Allison participated in the 1500m run at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic, finishing with a time of 4:48.64 to take third in her section. On the men’s side of competition, fellow freshman Tyler Goode posted a time of 4:24.53.

Part of the team assembled at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic, Vanessa GracianKayla O’ConnellJordan Torres and Trista Cordova competed in the 5000m run. Gracian recorded the top finish among Aggies, 17:25.30 to finish 45th overall (among over 130 participants) and third in her section.  O’Connell posted a time of 17:52.67, her best time since the 2023 Bryan Clay Invitational. Torres recorded a personal best in the event, posting a time of 17:53.17, competing in the event for the first time during the outdoor season. The true freshman Cordova finished sixth in her section, posting a time of 18:52.43, her best in the Crimson & White.
