Registration Opens July 18 for Youth Cheer Program–First Come, First Served

The City’s Parks and Recreation Department will open registration July 18 for its fall Youth Cheer Program.

The Youth Cheer Program, offered to all genders between the ages of 5 and 10, requires a $50 fee for new participants, which includes a jersey, or $40 for returning participants with no jersey.
 
Proof of age, or a Parks and Recreation activity ID card, is required to register. Instruction begins the first week of August.
 
Space is limited and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
 
In-person registration will be open from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 18, 2024, or until the program reaches its capacity. The registration will take place at Meerscheidt Recreation Center, 1600 E. Hadley Ave. A current Parks and Recreation activity ID card or birth certificate is required to register.
 
To obtain a Parks and Recreation activity ID card, parents or guardians must appear in person, with the participant, at Meersheidt Recreation Center to sign permission forms, show proof of age and have the participant’s photo taken. ID cards can be obtained from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.

Parks and Recreation activity ID cards cannot be issued on registration dates. For more information, call Meerscheidt Recreation Center at (575) 541-2563 or email athletics@lascruces.gov.
