The Doña County Road Department will begin chip sealing roads in the northern part of the County, starting Monday, May 13 through Friday, May 31.

The roads will remain open, but traffic will be reduced to one lane. Motorists are encouraged to obey the speed limit, pay attention to signs and follow the guidance of road traffic control. 

District 5 county roads to be repaired:

Knight Rd, Garfield  Fort McRae Rd, Radium Springs 
Nightwatchers Rd, Garfield  Fort Thorn Rd, Radium Springs 
Rio Viejo Rd, Garfield  Frodo Place, Radium Springs 
Two Counties Rd, Garfield  Hurt Rd, Radium Springs 
Walnut Grove Rd, Garfield  Kalvin Place, Radium Springs 
Buffalo Estates Rd, Radium Springs          Leasburg Dam Rd, Radium Springs 
Daniel Court, Radium Springs   L.B. Lindbeck Rd, Radium Springs 
De Beers Drive, Radium Springs   Meador Drive, Radium Springs 
Desert Edge Rd, Radium Springs   Robledo Vista Rd, Radium Springs 
Fort Cummings Rd, Radium Springs   South Track Trail, Radium Springs 
Fort McLane Rd, Radium Springs   County Road D061, Radium Springs    

Chip seal is heated asphalt liquid sprayed on the surface of a road, followed by small chips. Chip sealing is used to help extend the life of asphalt by protecting the pavement from the effects of sun and water, increases skid resistance, fills small cracks and other surface defects.
