Road repair scheduled for northern part of Doña Ana County

The Doña County Road Department will begin chip sealing roads in the northern part of the County, starting Monday, May 13 through Friday, May 31.

The roads will remain open, but traffic will be reduced to one lane. Motorists are encouraged to obey the speed limit, pay attention to signs and follow the guidance of road traffic control.

Walnut Grove Rd, Hatch  Kalvin Place, Las Cruces
Buffalo Estates Rd, Las Cruces  Leasburg Dam Rd, Las Cruces
Daniel Court, Las Cruces  L.B. Lindbeck Rd, Las Cruces
De Beers Drive, Las Cruces  Meador Drive, Las Cruces
Desert Edge Rd, Las Cruces  Robledo Vista Rd, Las Cruces

Chip seal is heated asphalt liquid sprayed on the surface of a road, followed by small chips. Chip sealing is used to help extend the life of asphalt by protecting the pavement from the effects of sun and water, increases skid resistance, fills small cracks and other surface defects.
