A Las Cruces Digest Report

This weekend will see four local teams (Hatch Valley, Mesilla Valley Christian, Mayfield and Las Cruces) defend their home turf in early rounds of the NMAA State Championships. Only Chaparral will travel, facing off against the Rams of Portales High School on the eastern side of New Mexico. As chance would have it, the Rams faced off against the Lobos just days ago, but this time, the teams are playing for the survival of their season. On November 2, Portales bested Chaparral 44-19. We will be watching this Friday to see if the Lobos can turn it around in this second-chance opportunity.

Both Centennial and Gadsden will sit this week out, having earned first-round Byes.
