Open gym is self-guided recreation with amenities such as basketball, volleyball, billiards, foosball, cornhole, and ping pong. To access open gym opportunities, teens will be required to check in at the front desk and show a *Parks & Recreation Activity I.D. card upon arrival.

Teens, ages 14 to 17, will also have access to cardio equipment such as treadmills and ellipticals free of charge with documented parent permission (no weights). Teens, ages 15 to 17, may access the weight room with documented parent/legal guardian permission and direct supervision of an adult 18 years or older.

*To obtain a Parks & Recreation Activity ID card, a parent (guardian) and youth, must appear in person at Meerscheidt Recreation Center to fill out an annual waiver, provide proof of age and grade, and have the teen’s photo taken. Activity ID cards can be obtained between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.
