Residents who live along Debra Street will experience a temporary water outage on Thursday, May 9, 2024.
Source: City of Las Cruces
The temporary water outage, planned for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, May 9, is necessary so Las Cruces Water Department crews can replace a fire hydrant at 1801 Debra St.
Adjacent areas – including residents on Jenice Couort, Jayne Lane, Flora Circle and Doree Court – may also be affected by this temporary water outage. The work is being done in Las Cruces City Council District 1.
Residents may notice discolored water due to iron, manganese and calcium deposits. Although the water is safe to drink, it’s recommended to allow facets to flow until water is clear before drinking or washing laundry.
The discoloration should dissipate within 24 hours. If it does not, residents should flush all faucets in their homes for five minutes. If the discoloration remains, call the City at (575) 526-0500.
