“New Mexico State University is proud to host the Hispanic Scholarship Fund’s College Camp. As one of four universities nationally selected to host the HSF College Camp, our region’s middle and high school students along with their family members will learn how to successfully prepare for the college admissions and financial aid processes,” said Tony Marin, assistant vice president for Student Affairs.

Presentations will focus on topics such as preparing for and applying to college; researching financial aid and scholarship opportunities; understanding the real cost of a college education; maximizing the college experience; and successfully transitioning to a career after college.

“College Camp at New Mexico State University will open doors to higher education for hundreds of families living in the area, many of whom will be receiving the knowledge we provide, for the first time,” said Fidel A. Vargas, president and CEO of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund. “Thanks to the partnership with NMSU, together we have the opportunity to transform lives in the region by sharing vital information and resources and answering questions.”

College Camp breakout sessions are tailored to address the needs of all participants. Breakout sessions will be students in 6th to 8th grade; students in 9th and 10th grade; students in 11th and 12th grade; and parents in both English and Spanish.
