The action began on Monday with the 3m dives. With a preliminary field of 51 student-athletes, the top 18 scores advanced to the final round. NM State’s only representative posted a score of 239.50, posting a 37th-place finish.

On Tuesday, the divers climbed even higher, heading to the platform at an altitude of 10 meters. 41 divers entered on the day, with the same 18 spots awaiting in the finals. Tinani left her biggest mark on the season in the preliminary round, posting a score of 223.30 on five dives. The Canadian earned the 17th-best posting, advancing to the finals.

The top nine scores advanced to next week’s national championships, as all but one spot went to Power Four programs. The second-year Aggie finished with a total of 398.95 points in the finals, coming in 18th place to cap the greatest day of her individual career thus far.

On Wednesday, the board was lowered and the stakes were raised as each diver was left with one opportunity to qualify for the NCAA Championships. 48 participants lined up for the preliminary round of the 1m dive. Tinani utilized her six dives to rack up a score of 212.55, placing her 36th in her final event of the week.

Tinani has been atop a multitude of leaderboards for Aggie divers this season, highlighted by a strong showing at the WAC Championships last month. She contributed 35 of NM State’s 534 points at the meet, grabbing a majority via a second-place finish in the A Final of the platform dive. Her 35 points were the sixth most by any league diver and the fifth most by an Aggie on the week.
