New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham spent a busy day in our broader community. In the morning, she participated in the ground breaking ceremony for a new film studio complex at Arrowhead Park, and in the afternoon she participated in the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Pedrena Apartments.

In her remarks, Governor Lujan Grisham was quick to highlight the success of our broader community in bringing this project to fruition. While she acknowledged the contribution of funding provided by the New Mexico legislature, she made sure the lion’s share of kudos remained with Las Cruces mayor, Eric Enriquez, as well as the community at large for supporting this kind of project.

The complex is already close to being fully occupied. The following was posted on the Pedrena Apartments Facebook page: “Call today and talk with Melissa about scheduling a tour, we only have a few apartments left, call today. 575-520-1892.”

Both the film studio and this senior apartment project were made possible by investments facilitated by the State of New Mexico; however, it is our broader community that is meeting the requirements to access this additional funding.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was streamed live on YouTube:
