Discover the art of solar printing at the Las Cruces Museum of Art on Saturday, November 29, from 2pm to 4pm.

This two-hour workshop is open to participants ages 13 and up. The cost is just $5, and with only 10 spaces available, early sign-up is strongly encouraged.

Registration is required by November 28 and can be done online at bit.ly/LCMuseumsRegistration or in person at the Museum Atrium desk during regular museum hours.

Solar printing, also known as cyanotype, is a historic photographic process that uses sunlight to create striking blue-and-white images. Objects or transparencies are placed on light-sensitive paper, then exposed to the sun. Once rinsed in water, the designs are revealed in vivid shades of cyan. This simple yet magical process has been used since the 19th century to capture botanical specimens, textiles, and creative designs.

Whether you’re curious about alternative photography or looking for a new way to experiment with art, this workshop offers a fun and accessible introduction. All materials will be provided.
