Call to Public: DASO Seeks Information on Potential Summer Homicide

DASO is requesting the public’s assistance with any information that may help in this investigation.

On June 5, Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office (DASO) deputies responded to a call regarding an unattended death in the desert area near 4201 Dripping Springs Road.

Upon arrival, deputies located Joseph Omar Ruiz, who was pronounced deceased at the scene. DASO is actively investigating this case as a homicide.

DASO is requesting the public’s assistance with any information that may help in this investigation. Anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area or have relevant information are encouraged to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Central Dispatch at 575-526-0795, option 6. Callers may also provide information anonymously through Crime Stoppers of Las Cruces at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
