The Senior Commander of White Sands Missile Range, Col. Andrew Morgan, along with Col. Matt Johnson, the Commander of the White Sands Test Center, and Col. Don Mozer, the U.S. Army Garrison Commander, held a combined town hall meeting on Nov. 20.

“This Thanksgiving season, Command Sgt. Maj. Acevedo and I are thankful to have you back. White Sands Missile Range needs you,” Morgan told Team WSMR. “We are more than just a patch of desert; our range requires surface area, airspace, world-class instrumentation, and a highly dedicated, specialized workforce. Welcome back!”

The purpose of the town hall was to welcome the workforce back after a funding lapse, emphasize the importance of Team WSMR’s mission during this critical time, and provide updates on organizational changes within the Department of War. These changes aim to improve efficiency, accelerate processes, and empower leaders to take calculated risks.

“Our guidance is clear: we must move faster, assume more risk, and prioritize outcomes over rigid processes,” Morgan stressed. “We are in an era of Great Power Competition unlike any we’ve seen in generations, and Team WSMR’s role is more important than ever.”
