Just before 5:00 a.m. Saturday, DAFR crews responded to a reported mobile home fire on Warthen Road. The first fire engine crew and DASO deputy arrived to find the mobile home fully engulfed in flames and the residents safely evacuated.
In about thirty minutes, the fire was contained. Four people were treated for smoke inhalation, and one was taken to the hospital for further treatment. The home sustained severe fire and smoke damage and was determined to be non-inhabitable. The American Red Cross was requested to assist the displaced family.
The fire was determined by fire investigators to be accidental. The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation.
